The Derwent Valley Aqueduct ran from the catchment reservoirs in the North to supply Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. The section between the impounding reservoirs and Ambergate is a mixture of pipe and culvert whilst the aquæduct South of Ambergate Service reservoir is all piped. (twin mains 48" and 36")
