Little Eaton & High Service
1881 Water Treatment Works and low Service
This early map shows the twin pumpung stations and the small and large basins. Up the hill is the Low Service Works consisting of a trapiziodal (uncovered?) Reservior, filter beds and semi circular reservoir. This reservior may have been covered?

ASSUMED PROCESS

Water from the infiltation tunnels would gravitate into the basins where it would be pumped by one of the two beam engines to Low Service. The other pump took it to High Service. Some rudermentary settlement took place in the reservoir and it then would gravitate through the Sand Filters and into the storage reservoir and gravitate to supply yje lower parts of Derby. I'd guess that there might be no disinfection (chlorination)
