Cess Woodward wrote on the back of this photo: Just getting prepared for crossing the road. They didn't close it either, did half at a time. But you can imagine the hold ups with the traffic, when the big cranes were manoeuvering the pipes. Each pipe weighed 6 1/2 tons. They burst the sewer, pulled the electric cable, and broke our telephone wire. So that gives you some idea of the excitement we had. (on the Saturday night they had to work until they got the road cleared up. It was dark, they had the big lights on. I was out with the big tea pot, of which they were most grateful.
